The Dance Gun

Yesterday my missionaries were in a goofy mood. They were shooting each other with finger guns. Then a sister in the district said "Elders! what are you doing?" they quickly covered themselves and said "Hey, its a friendship gun!" haha.

It made me think of the dance gun...
Remember those light guns we had. We used to play star-wars with them. When you pull the trigger the lights flash and it makes the coolest techno shooting sounds.

Well, when Robyn was about 3 the light gun made a comeback. Robyn was playing with it and Dave showed Robyn how to shoot people. So she went around shooting and we were all dying very dramatically. Then Robyn decided it would be more fun to play the dying role than the shooting one. She gave the gun to Dave, and he innocently shot Robyn. She pulled the most dramatic and lifelike display of dying... it was awful. Then in a genius turn of events someone suggested it be a dance gun instead of a shooting one. The person shot had to dance for the duration of the shot. It was great, an instant dance party. Robyn is a fabulous dancer!

You thought they were pajamas...

This morning I was putting away the summer clothes and pulling out the winter clothes. Robyn was industriously playing Princesses beside me.

I pulled out some pajama pants- the red plaid ones from a couple years ago, and folded them up.

Mid fold she turns to me and gasps...

"Mommy... you found Grandma's pants!?"

silently laughing

I just got back from watching a scary movie... actually I just got back from watching the inside of a blanket, as far as I know there was a scary movie going on too.  I was feeling pretty creepy and decided I needed some connection to the real world.  My roommate is sound asleep in her bed.  Our apartment and all of Provo is completely silent.  I open up this blog and start reading about the Peach Nasty.  I cant stop laughing out loud, I have to cover my face with the blanket again.

There is a pumpkin in the halloween decorations bucket.  Its the one that lights up and says" HAPPY HALLOWEEN! WA HA HAHA HA HAHA HA HA HAHA HA HA HAAAA!"  when you clap.  It also works if you drop books really hard or slam a door.  This pumpkin has been around since Brody.  I think I chased him with it, and I dont think he liked that very much.  Mom used to put it out on the front porch with all the pumpkins that we carved.  Back in those days we also had a terrifying gorilla mask.  It scared Brody too.  Mom and I were in the basement and Jen and Shelle were calling for her.  She looked at me and got a mischievous look in her eye and said "watch this"  she put the gorilla mask on the head of a tennis racket and stuck it through the stairs.  Jen and Shelle screamed and ran.  I couldnt believe Mom would pull such a trick!  But then she went upstairs and gave Jen and Shelle both hugs... Moms are so good!

current events

I propose a weekly space for us to say what is current with each of us. what do you think? Would it distract from the history focus of this endeavor?
